At its May Ordinary meeting Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) approved the allocation the second round of funding for the 2021/2022 Community Funding Program. A total of six projects were selected to share in the $10,000 of available funding.
“The LPSC Community Funding Program reflects Council’s commitment to support the vital contribution community groups and organisations make within our Shire to deliver quality programs and services to the local community,” said Mayor, Councillor Doug Hawkins OAM.
Eleven applications were received and assessed against the eligibility criteria. In this round $10,000 of funding was distributed to the following six organisations:
- Werris Creek Rugby League Club (Old Boys’ Charity Event) - $1,000
- Quirindi Rotary Club (Managing Mental Health) - $2,000
- Quirindi Bowling Club (October Open Carnival) - $1,500
- Quirindi and District Equestrian Club (Purchase of PA) - $2,110
- Quirindi Sporting Clay Target Club (Annual Charity Shoot) - $1,390
- Quirindi Rural Heritage Village (Sunflower head throwing competition) - $2,000
Councillor Hawkins said the allocation of funding to the six successful projects will provide benefits to the community by enabling organisations to develop new events, help support and launch a new event or activity, improve their existing event and assist local sporting and recreational clubs to host activities and events that require a contribution towards infrastructure upgrades.
“We thank all the community groups and organisations for taking the time to submit their applications, and we look forward to seeing those successful projects come to fruition in our community,” he said.
The next round of the Community Funding Program 2022/223 will commence later this year and further information is available at www.liverpoolplains.nsw.gov.au.
