Public Exhibition
Notice is hereby given that Council has prepared a Draft Local Orders Policy for Keeping Animals in Residential Areas pursuant to Section 159 of the Local Government Act 1993. This Draft Policy is on public exhibition and Council invites interested parties to make submissions on any matters in accordance with the following details.
Inspection of the Draft Policy can be viewed at:
- Liverpool Plains Shire Council Administration Building at 60 Station St Quirindi.
- Liverpool Plains Shire Council’s website at: www.liverpoolplains.nsw.gov.au under the “Public notices” tab.
Written submissions can be made regarding the Draft Policy up until the day the exhibition period ends.
Submissions should:
- Specify any support, objections, or concerns about the any specific provisions or the Policy as a whole.
- Specify alternatives to the provisions that are objected to or raise concerns.

160 Public notice and exhibition of draft local policy
(1) The council must give public notice of a draft local policy after it is prepared.
(2) The period of public exhibition must be not less than 28 days.
(3) The public notice must also specify a period of not less than 42 days after the date on which the draft local policy is placed on public exhibition during which submissions may be made to the council.
(4) The council must, in accordance with its notice, publicly exhibit the draft local policy together with any other matter which it considers appropriate or necessary to better enable the draft local policy and its implications to be understood.
