Yarraman Creek / Coonabarabran Road Culvert – Replacement works

On display until 31 December 2024, 05:00 PM

In 2024 Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) received funding from the Infrastructure Betterment Fund (IBF) and the Regional Roads and Transport Recovery Package (RRTRP), to replace the existing structure over Yarraman Creek on Coonabarabran Road.  This essential infrastructure upgrade is necessary to improve safety and reliability of the crossing for all road users.

LPSC wish to inform the community of the essential works about to commence at Yarraman Creek, which include, (but not limited to):

  1. Review of Environmental Effects.
  2. Hydrological Study.
  3. Geotechnical study.

Data from the above mentioned will then define the design best suited for the construction of a suitable structure that will make access more resilient during wet weather events and flooding. Upon completion of the listed works the information collected will be used to support a design and construct contract, to provide the following works:

  1. Implementing temporary traffic management plans to minimise disruption during construction.
  2. Demolition of the current structure.
  3. Construction of a new, more robust structure.
  4. Upgrading the approach roads for improved access and safety.

This work will be conducted without inconvenience to community members, with studies commencing in the next couple of weeks.

LPSC value the input of our community and invite you to participate in the consultation process.
