Liverpool Plains Shire Council Mayor, Cr Doug Hawkins OAM said ratepayers can now use the Willow Tree Visitor Information Centre as a place to pay council and water rates.

“This is great news for people who live in the east of the council area,” Cr Hawkins said.

“The Visitor Information Centre is a great advertisement for the shire as passing tourists call in to find out what the region has to offer.

“Now it is even more helpful for ratepayers who live in the Willow Tree area to drop in and carry out any transaction regarding rates and water supply.

“The Centre was opened 11 years ago and this another great service we can provide,” he said.

“We’ll also soon be able to undertake most other Council transactions in a short time.

“The Centre has been busy as travellers from the large coastal centres head off on the road as Covid-19 restrictions ease.

“We have plenty of people who have been using the train service to come here, have a great meal at Graze, some stay the night and others catch the train to return home on the same day.

“But we’re also seeing plenty of people who want to find out what there is to see and enjoy in our region.

“The Sunflower trail always catches the attention of out-of-town visitors and they’re looking for paddocks to look at and photograph,” Cr Hawkins said.
